The drive to Ayr  passes through lovely countryside before arriving at the coast. Culzean Castle which is owned by the National Trust is well worth a visit. The Golf  Open at Turnberry is about 35 miles away.

The red kites are a must to see near Loch Ken attracting bird lovers and walkers.

The Wickerman Festival at East Kirkcarswell, Dundrennan. 

Kirkcudbright Jazz festival is a lovely event to see.

The Open Golf Championship Turnberry Practice day 15th july, Main Open 16th July -19th july.

Mull of Galloway  The Lighthouse a must to see
